Sailor Moon, also known as Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon or Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, is a shojo manga series created by Naoko Takeuchi. It was serialized in 1991 and has since been well loved by people not only in Japan but around the world.
A live-action Sailor Moon television series was also produced in 2003. Its storyline was far different from the manga and consisted of new characters.
If you’re wondering who the main characters in the original story are, take a look at this list:
- Sailor Moon
- Tuxedo Mask
- Sailor Mercury
- Sailor Mars
- Sailor Jupiter
- Sailor Venus
- Sailor Chibi Moon
- Sailor Pluto
- Sailor Uranus
- Sailor Neptune
- Sailor Saturn
Every character has a weapon of their own that they use in fighting the bad guys. It is said that Sailor Moon was originally planned to have a single story arc, but later on, four more story arcs were produced. They became immensely popular that stage musicals were also produced.
Sailor Moon has been translated into 17 different languages and has made its way into 40 countries. With its vast history, it surely deserves to have its own unique attraction.
