Enter the world of anime and see the monorail run in the background of a field of lotus flowers!
Chiba City is the setting for the popular romantic comedy, Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (literally “My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute”). It is about Kyosuke Kosaka, a typical Japanese high school boy who is suddenly asked for advice on life one day by his little sister Kirino, whom he had never gotten along with.
Among the locations that appear in the manga, Chiba Park is particularly impressive for its scenery, with the monorail running in the background of a quiet pond.
Every June, many people visit the park to see the Oga lotus, which is the oldest flower in the world. You are sure to be soothed just by the pleasant contrast of the monorail and the lotus flowers. Put yourself in the shoes of Oreimo’s main characters and enjoy a stroll around the park.

The main characters of the anime, Zegapain, who attend a high school near Maihama, get off at a station modeled after Maihama Station. It appears as the setting for an important scene in the story. In the anime, it is referred to as “Minami Maihama Station.”
The embankment that the characters visit where the river accident happens is located near Maihama Bridge, which spans over Kyuedogawa River. On clear days, you can even see Mt. Fuji from here.
