As one of the major cities of Kyushu, Fukuoka sees it’s fair share of tourists all year round. Whether you are just passing through or having an extended holiday, this well-situated hotel will be your first port of call when booking accommodation.
The Hakata Green Hotel Number 2 (there are several in the Green hotel chain this review is for the number 2 branch) has a fantastic location – just minutes away from the busy, central Hakata Station. Whether you are arriving to Fukuoka by train or plane, the hotel is convenient to reach. Fukuoka Airport is only 5 minutes away by subway from Hakata Station, so even if your flight arrives late at night and you need somewhere to crash ASAP, you can get to the Hakata Green Hotel very easily.
As well as being well situated, the hotel is reasonably priced, particularly given the great location. Prices are per room, so the more people you stay with, the cheaper it is! Single room: 7,200 Yen, Semi-double room: 9,500 Yen, Double Room: 10,000 Yen, Twin room: 10,600 Yen, Deluxe Twin: 13,800. There are also group options for adding extra people to twin or triple rooms, and a group room that can fit up to 8 people. Prices vary depending on which booking website you use – look around and you’ll be sure to find deals that make it even cheaper.
There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the building, or a few minutes walk away and you’ll be back in Hakata station and surrounded by dining options. Within the hotel, there is a laundrette you can use, and a meeting room that can be hired for functions. For those of you who like to rewind with a bit of pampering, you can choose from a number of massage options, with prices from 1,550 Yen and up. Just outside the hotel are two FamilyMart convenience stores – a cheaper option than having breakfast in the hotel, by a long way.
With over 500 rooms, the Hakata Green Hotel No. 2 is constantly catering to the needs of Fukuoka’s
visitors. The rooms are not massive and the beds are a little hard, but for the price you pay and the fantastic location, it’s certainly worth it. So whether you are just passing through or are hoping to enjoy the many tourist attractions of the city, make sure your Fukuoka break starts and ends with the Hakata Green Hotel.
