Have you ever heard the quote “Life is about chances, trying new things, having fun, making mistakes and learning from it”? Surely, Nestlé took those words seriously, creating new varieties of flavours, ranging from different fruits to beverages. Opening the box felt like discovering an isolated utopia. The designs of the wraps grabbed my attention. They did not need any cartoon characters on the package. Instead, they used real pictures of the main ingredients, which symbolises simplicity and sophistication popular among Japanese goods. Human brains can sometimes be brilliant, my friend!

This flavour was mind-blowing! I was a bit terrified, since I was not a fan of wasabi. Moreover, it smelled exactly the same as horseradish, sending me shivers down my spine. The taste was unexpected because I could not feel the spiciness at all. The truth was it was sweet!

It is customary to bring a local souvenir back to their loved ones when Japanese people travel. Therefore, Nestle took advantage of this custom and made their own local souvenirs. The taste was unique. There was a tiny burning sensation on my tongue, but it was tolerable. Though I might not buy it again, I would eat it if someone gave it to me.

One word, artificial! I could clearly taste the chemicals inside. If you are familiar with the smell of an apple-scented car freshener, I would say that this is it’s twin. As an apple lover, I had high expectations of this. However, it was disappointing.

I had to say, it tasted nothing like a strawberry cheesecake. On one hand, there was a generous amount of strawberry in it. On the other hand, the taste of the cheese wasn’t strong enough. From my perspective, it should be called “Strawberry White Chocolate Kit Kat” instead of “Strawberry Cheesecake Kit Kat”.

Surprisingly, I did not like it. I am a huge fan of red beans and I always put red bean paste in almost everything. The sweetness was hidden under a bitter charcoal-like taste. I would compare this to a 50-year-old ashtray.

The Hojicha Roasted Tea Kit Kat is inspired by Kyoto. It did smell and taste roasted in a good way. The coating was rich in both mixtures of high-quality tea leaves and milk. I would definitely recommend this to everybody, especially tea lovers.

8. Blueberry Cheesecake

This one smelled and tasted just like a blueberry cheesecake! The experience was very different from the “strawberry cheesecake” because this one was jsut so much better. The flavours of both cheese and blueberry were certainly high quality and the cream did not stick to the back of my mouth.

9. Citrus Golden Blend

Even though it iss made with two different flavors: lemon and lime, I could not distinguish them. This Kit Kat made me feel healthier because of its citrusy and sweet taste which created a perfect combination for a snack. Eating it felt like taking a sip of a cold lemonade under the sun.

Anyone up for a purple sweet potato? At least you can now inform your parents that you are eating some vegetables. I love sweet potatoes and my grandma would always boil a whole bag of them every time I visited her. The company made a good job producing this, but the level of sweetness was just too much for me to handle.

I have tried some raw Yatsuhashi (a Japanese souvenir confectionery) in an international gathering before. Honestly, the authenticity was well kept in this chocolate. I would like to give two big thumbs up to the innovator for such a revolutionary idea because the combination of white chocolate and cinnamon was oishii (delicious)!

It took me a long time to find this flavour, as it was not mass-produced. Even the owner of a Japanese shop was shocked and told me that it was absurd since he had never seen it before. I wondered too why the colour was white, as it did not resemble a cup of soy sauce at all. Taking a small bite of this would not crack down my curiosity. It tasted exactly the same as plain white chocolate to me! After taking a few more bites, I could detect a hint of salt in it. Truthfully, I would be fooled into thinking that this was a white chocolate if no one mentioned about the actual flavour.

Made in a renowned tea-producing area Kansai, matcha is one of the ingredients that is universal, which is now used in food and beauty products. This Kit Kat has been the one of the most acceptable and fairly successful products, besides the classic flavour. To me, this was a real treat- it had many different elements in a wrap, it was sweet, milky, florally and bitter at the same time.
