Step Inside a Dreamworld of Fantasy at Kawaii Monster Cafe Harajuku!

  • Experience Japanese cuteness overload by stepping inside one of Harajuku’s latest cafes: Kawaii Monster Cafe! Located right in the middle of this trendy town, the cafe recently opened on August 1, 2015. Get lost in the swirling paradise of multi-colored interior designs done by Creative Director Sebastian Masuda. With the psychedelically bright colors, it will surely make you happy!

    The Concept

This the perfect place for you to experience the latest in Harajuku’s pop culture and trends!

The concept was based on a walking journey. Not just any journey but an experience of entering the belly of Mr. Ten Thousand Chopsticks. He is the banner character. As you go inside, you’ll meet a merry-go-round called “Sweets Go Round.” It is designed like an enormous cake!

This is considered to be the cafe’s symbol as well as a perfect place for a photo shoot. There are 4 types of available seating areas namely Mushroom Disco, Milk Stand, Bar Experiment and Mel-Tea Room. Let’s get to know them more!

    Mushroom Disco

Enjoy eating under these poisonous mushrooms.

    Milk Stand

A quirky setup where baby bottles hang from the ceiling! I think it makes the place look so adorable.

    Bar Experiment

Enjoy some kawaii drinks while being encapsulated by a gigantic jelly fish! Anyone with the heart of an adventurer will surely adore this place.

Mel-Tea is the perfect place for your sweet tooth. It is filled with ice-cream, strawberries, macaroons and other sweet things.

Remember though that you have to pay a fee of 500 yen upon entering the cafe. This is only good for 90 minutes. They are offering a variety of foods which can cost you around 700 yen to 2,800 yen. They are open daily from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

    VIP Pink Cat Room

Don’t forget the VIP Pink Cat Room! For those who want to be treated more lavishly, you have to check out this place.
