Emi Takei (武井咲) is an actress managed by Oscar Promotion, the same artist management where known Japanese actresses like Ryoko Yonekura (The Cherry Orchard, 35-sai no Koukousei, Doctor-X) and Ueto Aya (Azumi, Yoshitsune, Attention Please, Thermae Romae) are part of.
Before ultimately becoming one of the most popular actresses of Oscar Promotion, Takei-san won the “Japan Bishoujo Contest” in the model and multimedia categories when she was only 12 years old.
Takei-san’s first ever film appearance is “The Cherry Orchard or “Sakura no Sono”. Her sempai (senior), Ryoko Yonekura was also part of the said film. While her first ever drama appearance is for the drama adaptation of the manga “Otomen” alongside actors, Masaki Okada, Kaho and Ryo Kimura, etc. She starred alongside popular actor, Miura Haruma, in the drama series, Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta. She portrayed Hikari Saeki, an antagonist turned protagonist in this certain drama. What’s even more, she landed her first ever starring role when she was offered to work on the live action of “Asuko March!” From then on, she landed more drama series and movie roles!
One of them is Rurouni Kenshin that catapulted her to international fame. On top of that, Takei-san is currently starring in a Japanese drama entitled “Age Harassment” in TV Asahi.
This pretty young lady ventured into the J-Pop scene by releasing a single last December 2011. Her first ever single “Koi suru kimochi” was written by GLAY’s TAKURO.
