    So What Is It?

Myojo Ippei-Chan Yomise Yakisoba is one of the most popular instant noodle brands in Japan. To capitalize on this coming Valentine’s Day, the company will be releasing this special edition, ingenious product of instant noodles with chocolate sauce on the 18th of January, 2016. The product is called Ippei-chan Yomise no Yakisoba Choco-Sauce with Cinnamon.

The yakisoba sauce is a mixture of worcestershire-like sauce with cocoa powder and latte flavoring. There is also a special chocolate sauce which has a hint of bitterness which is to be poured onto the noodles. Not only that, a packet of toppings is included which contains cinnamon and chocolate chips to be sprinkled on the noodles. The suggested retail price of this product is 180 yen excluding tax so it is a very affordable chocolate gift for Valentine’s Day!

Since Rice Krispies with chocolate taste pretty good, I supposed these instant noodles should not taste too bad despite how icky it may sound to those who have not tried something similar.

    How Will It Taste?

I am just a little concerned about the addition of worcestershire-like sauce which would make the noodles taste a little salty instead of a purely sweet flavor. The soggy texture of noodles may also make it less appealing for some people. Maybe you can try pouring chocolate sauce with cinnamon and worcestershire sauce on instant noodles to get a hint of what the Ippei-chan Yomise no Yakisoba Choco-Sauce with Cinnamon would taste like.

While giving instant noodles as a Valentine’s Day gift may not seem very romantic, it is certainly unique and memorable! Just make sure that your loved one has a sense of humor to appreciate this gift which is cheap and not very pretty. Do you think these instant noodles with chocolate sauce are a yay or nay as a Valentine Day’s gift?
