Zombies do not only show up during Halloween in Japan. They can be found in some theme parks across the country, too. And now, a Zombie Museum is opening in Osaka this coming summer to double up the thrill for those wanting to enjoy the zombie culture. Let’s check out the place!
Japan is one of the perfect settings for a typical zombie outbreak due to its densely populated place and sprawling subway system. This is one of the reasons why a Zombie Museum has long been planned to open up in Osaka to help people actually feel the excitement while getting terrified. This can also be a way of cooling down against the wrath of the summer heat. The museum will be located on the 14th floor of the Daimaru Department Store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka at a limited time from July 29 to August 22, 2016. It will be situated in a setting which is not too distant from the year 2020 such as those seen in zombie apocalypse movies.
The story of Zombie Museum is based on a virus outbreak which started in California. It suddenly spread into different places wiping out most of the American population. It then continued spreading globally which prompted a Japanese-American, Dr. Aoki, to find a solution by developing a vaccine. He even went overboard by allowing himself to be bitten by flesh-eating zombies just to achieve his goal. The museum was opened up to commemorate the accomplishment of Dr. Aoki in the story. It also showcases different ways of dealing with zombies such as using a gun or a stick. A laboratory can be found in the museum where active zombies are being studied which totally contributes to the creepiness. To increase the thrill, the place has been decorated with special effects and techniques that will surely add a chill to your bones.
If you want to get a first-hand experience of the Zombie Museum, you should book tickets in advance to avail of slots and discounts. Tickets cost 800 yen for adults, 600 yen for high school students, 300 yen for children, and free for preschoolers. So what are you waiting for? Get the zombie thrill of your life at this museum in Osaka now!
