Last October 2016, the iconic MOTIF RESTAURANT & BAR collaborated with Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi in providing limited edition cocktails served in exquisite Carlo Moretti glasses. Everything that was served was inspired by the vibrant and playful flavors of Italy mixed with a Japanese twist. It was actually something that paid homage to the Moretti brand while maintaining the Japanese culture.
Although the promotion ended so soon, you can still enjoy European dishes, with a particular emphasis on French cuisines, anytime at MOTIF RESTAURANT & BAR located inside Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. MOTIF RESTAURANT & BAR opened on the 7th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo in 2002. The location was chosen as it allowed guests to have a good view of the historic Tokyo Station, which is a popular railway station in the country. It offers a vast view of beautiful skyscrapers of Japan’s most prestigious business districts in the area.
The restaurant was founded on the principles of “Esprit Terroir” or “Spirit of the Earth” and offers a farm-to-table culinary collaboration of great chefs. Its head chef is Hiroyuki Asano (浅野 裕之) who, oftentimes, designs and crafts different courses of dinner. He is assisted by Chef Hiroshi Nakamichi (中道 博) who is known for executing world-renowned French dishes. The cuisine in the restaurant is supervised by Hiroshi Nakamichi, a three-Michelin-star chef who is based in Hokkaido (北海道). He ensures that different varieties of food will be available for breakfast and lunch buffets.
Guests can enjoy different atmospheres of dining by choosing either the dining lounge sections or the bar lounge sections. Everyone can enjoy a gastronomic journey of genuine flavors from early morning until midnight as the restaurant presents superb dishes.
An afternoon tea service is also available which offers fresh finger foods and sweets in a luxurious and relaxed atmosphere with a great panoramic view. During this time, guests can enjoy 30 different kinds of foods from finger foods, potato gratins, truffle-flavored popcorns to Wagyu (Japanese beef) burgers. This is something guests can always look forward to every day.
Dinner is located at the main dining area wherein dinner courses are made from Hokkaido’s fresh ingredients and paired with a rich selection of organic wines.
The Social Salon is considered the main dining area wherein guests can indulge in great food and afternoon tea. Guests who are aged 4 and older are welcome to eat at The Social Salon during dinner time.
Meanwhile, casual lunch and afternoon tea are offered at The Living Room which consists of the restaurant’s main bar. Here, you can just sit back and enjoy a huge selection of mouth-watering snacks including their signature Wagyu burger. A wide assortment of wines and handcrafted cocktails are also available in this area.
Finally, The Gastronomic Gallery is a place for casual dining which offers an interactive culinary experience with buffet items, entrees, and desserts used for breakfast and lunch. The place turns into a tapas bar (Spanish appetizers and snacks) in the evening which allows other specialties to be enjoyed.
The entire month of October 2016 was dedicated to Italian menus of cocktails and drinks at the restaurant. Each flavorful drink was designed by resident bartender Willem Thach. Special recipes were used to come up with fragrant and delicious drinks. During this promotional menu, the history and culture of the Moretti brand was combined with Japanese influence. The drinks were poured into Carlo Moretti glassware which were very elegant and distinguished. Each of these glasses was considered a work of art evoking contemporary techniques as well as design. Colorful layers were seen in the cocktail drinks which were suitable for showing off or showcasing. Everyone was given the chance to enjoy the wonderful experience on a daily basis at the restaurant which started from 5:00 p.m. Exclusive of consumption tax and service charge, the price per head was 2,100 yen.
Christmas Dinner 2016
If you missed the October promotion, worry not as the Christmas Dinner 2016 promotion has already been announced for winter:
On December 19 to 21, 2016, you can enjoy the following food on the menu: caviar and buckwheat galette, marinated prawn with grapefruit, sea urchin, seasonal vegetables with truffles, roasted lily root with seaweed butter, sauteed whelk with udo and rice, granité, and grilled duck with burdock and Japanese parsley. This menu will cost 15,000 yen, exclusive of tax and service charge.
On December 19 to 25, 2016, the following menus can be enjoyed: caviar and buckwheat galette, marinated prawn with grapefruit, flan and bisque sea urchin, seasonal vegetables with truffles, roasted lily root with seaweed butter, broiled channel rockfish with leek and “ebi” taro potato, granité, and grilled venison with beets and sauce grand veneur. This menu will cost 18,000 yen, exclusive of tax and service charge.
The last set of menu will be offered on the same dates of the second set (December 19 to 25, 2016) with the following dishes: caviar and buckwheat galette, marinated prawn with grapefruit, flan and bisque sea urchin, seasonal vegetables with truffles, roasted lily root with seaweed butter, roasted longtooth grouper with bouillabaisse and turnip, granité, and beef tenderloin wrapped with pie. This menu will cost 23,000 yen, exclusive of tax and service charge.
Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Afternoon Tea
One event to look forward to is the Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Afternoon Tea which offers a special afternoon tea with a gift of mini-sized Signorina bottle from November 1, 2016 to January 3, 2017. This will occur on a daily basis from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Happy hour occurs from Monday to Sunday between 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with selected beverages available up to 50 percent off.
- Those who wish to enjoy prestigious champagnes and wines may choose the “First Class of the Month” upgraded menu. Free-flowing package of cocktails and drinks will be served along with tasteful cuisines from Monday to Friday at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The duration will only be good for 2 hours.
