    1. Summer Flowers

    Flowers grow beautifully everywhere in Japan. There are numerous flower festivals in Japan that offer splendid flower panoramas. There are also gardens that open to the public in various locations displaying a wonderful array of colorful roses, tulips, and other beautiful blossoms.

    2. Fireworks

    Some say that summer is the season of fireworks in Japan as there are many fireworks displays held throughout the country during the months of July and August. So, be sure to enjoy the fireworks during the summer festivals and experience wearing a casual summer kimono (yukata) like the Japanese people do!

    3. Summer Festivals

    In Japan, there are festivals for every season and summer festivals tend to be huge! If you’re after the biggest festivals in Japan to make your summer holiday here even more memorable, head to Osaka on July 24th to 25th for the Tenjin Matsuri celebrations and to Kyoto between the 1st and 31st July for the Gion Matsuri celebrations.

    4. Simple Summer Clothes and Shoes

    Hang up your coats and scarves, and hide your boots. Out with the winter and in with the summer! Yes, you can finally wear lighter clothes like shorts and tee shirts as well as simple summer shoes or even sandals.     Yes, there are even drinks limited to the summer season and can be found in convenience stores (konbinis) throughout the country.
