Mt. Fuji is one of the most popular places to visit in Japan. However, it can be troublesome visiting the country’s highest mountain if your travel time is limited. If you want to see Mt. Fuji and the Hakone area all in one day, here’s the perfect tour for you this spring 2018!
The first stop of the Mt. Fuji & Hakone 1-Day Bus Tour by Hankyu Travel International Co., Ltd. is Oshino Hakkai Springs, which is a name given to the eight springs with clear water at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The place provides a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji. You will stay here for approximately 50 minutes, enough time to take beautiful pictures with your friends.
After that, you will ride a pirate ship on Lake Ashinoko for 30 minutes. The sightseeing cruise will allow you to relax and enjoy beautiful Mt. Fuji sights around the lake.
The last stop is the Hakone-Yumoto area, which is only 90 minutes away from Tokyo. This is an onsen resort area where you can find several ryokans and souvenir shops. You’ll be spending approximately 100 minutes here.
Since there is not enough time to try the onsen, you can try the public foot bath instead, called “ashiyu” in Japanese. It is a convenient alternative for people who want to feel the hot spring water without having to strip their clothes off and immerse their whole bodies.
There are also many shops selling traditional food and handicrafts in the area. It is the perfect spot to buy souvenirs before going home.
There are some points to take note before booking this tour:
- There are times when Mt. Fuji may not be visible due to weather conditions. In such a case, the tour may not be canceled and the fee will not be refunded. However, in case the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise is canceled due to weather disturbance, the tour conductor will have to take you to another location.
- The meeting place for the tour is the Shinjuku Center Building, just seven minutes on foot from the JR Shinjuku Station (West Entrance) or an eight-minute walk from the Odakyu Shinjuku Station (West Underground Gate). Meeting time is at 7:50 AM and no one should be late. The tour conductor speaks English so there’s no need to worry if you don’t know any Japanese language.
- Booking can be done online via credit card. Remember that breakfast, lunch, and dinner will not be provided. The tour price range from 5,000 yen to 6,000 yen, depending if it’s peak season or not.
What are you waiting for? Book this tour with your family and friends and see the majestic Mt. Fuji while exploring the hot spring town of Hakone.
