Watashi ni xx Shinasai! (わたしに××しなさい!), or Missions of Love, is a series by Japanese manga artist Ema Toyama. It ran in Kodansha’s monthly manga magazine “Nakayoshi” from 2009 to 2015 and was compiled in tankobon format with a total of 19 volumes. The series won the Best Children’s Manga award at the 36th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2012.
Missions of Love received a live-action series adaptation that premiered on the Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) and Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) in March 2018.
Ema Toyama’s debut work is Tenshi no Tamago which came out in “Nakayoshi” in its September 2003 issue. She currently has four ongoing manga series including Kitsune to Pancake and Imoto no o Shigoto wa Jikyu 2000-en, which are published by Houbunsha, and Watanuki-san ni wa Boku ga Tarinai and Aoba-kun ni Kikitai Koto, which are published by Kodansha.
Yukina Himuro has been called a “snow woman” for her sharp stare that seems like she is glaring at people and a touch so cold that it reminds you of snow. But in reality, she is simply observing people for character inspiration, as she is secretly a cell phone novelist with the pen name, “Yupina.”
Upon the request of her readers, she tries to write about love in her novel but finds herself unable to do so without experiencing love herself. The unexpected discovery of the student handbook of her classmate, Shigure Kitami, gives her the idea of blackmailing him to be her partner for her “missions” to know more about love. To keep the secrets in his handbook and preserve his image of being a cool and reliable student, Shigure reluctantly agrees to do the missions.
Things become more complicated once Yukina’s cousin, Akira Shimotsuki, confesses love to her. Will Yukina be able to find true love?
