Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, one of the best sightseeing spots in Sapporo

    1. Spectacular views

    First of all, you can have great views from the top. This spot is located in the center of Sapporo, so you can see all of the city. When the weather is fine, the view is most beautiful, you should check the weather before you go. The daytime views are great, but the view of sunset is most wonderful. If you can see the sunset, you will feel lucky and it will surely move you!

    2. Statue of Dr. Clark

    The front of Dr. Clark’ statue is the best spot for taking pictures. Many travellers strike a pose same to Dr.Clark’s statue when taking pictures with it. Dr. William Smith Clark, the father of Hokkaido pioneers, his right arm is raised in his characteristic pose as he points “toward the eternal truth which lies far in the distance”, with a deep feeling of ambition towards that goal.

    Hitsujigaoka Observation hill also has vast fields with the flocks of sheep. In fact, the name of Hitsujigaoka(羊ケ丘)literally means sheep hill.
