Mystays Hotel is located in downtown of Kyoto and is quite affordable, it is definitely perfect for travellers on a budget and has easy access to public transportation as well as to some of the main tourist attractions.
8-minute walk from JR Kyoto Railway station lies this affordable and spacious hotel much like an apartment or lodging house. They have spacious rooms that can accommodate groups of friends or small families up to 5 persons.
This capsule hotel is not typically for long stays and is mostly visited by men and businessmen that don’t need anything else but a bed. “Nine Hours” name says it all, it would require you to stay ther for no more than nine hours, one hour preparing for bed, 7 hours of sleep and another 1 hour to get ready after you wake up. But you can actually stay longer with time extensions, up to 17hrs. Bathrooms are shared and provide all the things you need: the toiletries, towels and pajamas. A traditional yet unique and modernised pod is equipped with an adjustable light. If you’re looking for some place to stay overnight or just missed the last train, this “coffin-like” bed and white surrounding bring a greater sense of clean, calm relaxing experience for such an affordable price.
One of Kyoto’s best and cheapest places for resting, it is also a capsule hotel but the concept is quite different from Nine Hours, you will have a relaxation experience of a first class or business class cabin of an airplane. First class of course is bigger and more elegant than business class. The hotel staffs are very pleasant and friendly, there is no door but big curtains, shared bathrooms and a tub if you want to refresh and relax. The hotel amenities include wide LCD TVs, two lamps on both sides, toiletries, and bedroom clothes. If sleeping early is not your daily habit, you can hang out in their bar lounge area.
Common facilities include vending machines, convenience store and free use of computers with wi-fi access. The have a restaurant with traditional Japanese interior and authentic Chinese cuisines, the also have a free breakfast buffet. Free parking is provided as well.
