  • The heat and humidity of Japanese summer can be brutal but luckily, there are plenty of places to help you have some summer fun and cool off at the same time! With exciting water parks located throughout the country, they are a great way to help you get the most out of summer here in Japan. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest and best water parks in Japan!

    1. Spa Resort Hawaiians Water Park

    This all-weather indoor dome is a tropical Hawaiian-themed water park located in Fukushima. Not only are there massive pools and exciting waterslides, this place has several different areas for swimming, shopping and enjoying Hawaiian culture all while staying in Japan. It’s quite a unique location and is terrific for families, as there are several areas designated for kids!


    2. Nagashima Spa Land Resort

    Nagashima Spa Land Resort is one of the best tourist destinations to explore and enjoy the fun extreme rides that are available. After riding the roller coasters, you can relax in the man-made hot springs or enjoy the water slides in the pool area. The Jumbo pool contains 11 different slides and 10 pools.


    3. Tokyo Summerland

    Tokyo Summerland is an attraction for the whole family. Coming here is a perfect way to cool off in the summer heat, to splash around and go for a dive in the exciting indoor and outdoor water parks. It is a complete complex that features an adventure lagoon with a large wave pool, the so-called long lazy river, waterslides, and many other outdoor attractions.


    4. Hydropolis (Toshimaen)

    This is one of the best water theme parks in Japan that has different types of pools, giant water slides, a diving pool with 1 and 3-meter diving boards, pools for kids, and a 50-meter pool for skilled swimmers. Incredible garden designs make the outdoor area beautiful while the spa hot springs filled with rich mineral salt water help to relax you as well as remove dead skin cells.     Combine water slides, a large wave pool, pools for kids, a zoo and amusement park and you’ve got Tobu Super Pool. Even if you don’t feel like swimming, you can do some sightseeing at this family-friendly location with great low rates!


    6. Yomiuri Land

    This is a cheaper alternative to Disneyland with lots of attractions, including 43 rides in its amusement park and a number of slides in its water theme park which is open only in summer. On top of everything else, its water park also has wave pools, diving boards, and you can also go swimming at night! It is definitely a perfect way to beat the heat!
