A skincare brand that has been around for a few years is starting to pick up popularity, here in Tokyo. Supreme Noi is a Japanese beauty and skincare brand that has been around since 2012. It is still a relatively young company compared to many other beauty brands, but it has been gaining more popularity since March of this year because Youtubers have been using and showing casing its products in videos.
This past week, in June, I and a few other interns were able to visit Supreme Noi’s office and get to know a little bit more about the brand and the people behind the brand. It only has one office in Tokyo that they work out of as of now, but it is such a cute space!
The entryway is a decorated seating area complete with the brand name, pink walls, and plants. In the office area, all the walls are a pretty light pink and it is an open office area, no cubicles, so everyone can work together and collaborate more smoothly.
Everyone we met in the office was so sweet and inviting, they seemed so happy to have us there. They sat with us in their meeting room and began to tell us more about Supreme Noi, and what they stand for.
Its main skin care line consists of four products: a makeup removing cleanser, face wash, toning lotion, and a night cream. Together, these products are supposed to make the skin brighter and give an overall healthy glow. Their mission is to provide products that actually work for working women. More women are working full-time in Japan as well as raising kids and doing a million other things. Supreme Noi designed products for these working women so their skin is one less thing they have to worry about.

We asked what it means to be a skincare company in Japan, as opposed to being a skincare company in the U.S. and the answer we got was very refreshing. They explained to us that the beauty industry is far more regulated in Japan than it is in the U.S. and the ingredients that are used in their products are much more natural, with no harsh chemicals. Their products are gentle on the skin and are nourishing and hydrating.
Supreme Noi also explained to us that because the beauty is so heavily regulated, the advertising for beauty and skin products is just as regulated. They informed us that they have to be very transparent in the claims they make about their products. For example, even though the products it sells help reduce and take care of acne and scarring, it cannot claim that it is a perfect remedy for such things even if it does a really good job at fixing these skin issues, it can only advertise that it assists in clearing those skin problems.

However, even though advertising regulations may be strict on skincare advertising, Supreme’s message is still being heard. Supreme has upheld its image and dedication of providing quality skincare products ever since it started. The formulas have been perfected and have stayed consistent through the years. They also do NOT test on animals which makes their products that much better!
At the end of our meeting, they were kind enough to gift us with some of their products to try out for ourselves. We received their ‘Deep Mineral Cleaning’ which is a liquid cleanser used to take off makeup. It has been a few days since our meeting with them, and I can personally say that I have used it every day since because I really like it. It does an amazing job of washing off all my makeup, even mascara, and it leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed!
If you are in Japan, I would highly recommend this product to everyone because it’s gentle and effective. As of now, they only sell in Japan, however, they do have plans to sell overseas in the future, so until then I will not be able to get it, so I might as well stock up on it while I’m here.
