The story of One Piece revolves around a young man, named Monkey D. Luffy, in his search for that “One Piece” treasure. He wishes to succeed Gol D. Roger, the king of the pirates. This was the kickstart to his adventures as he sailed into the sea with his companions whom he now calls his crew. They call themselves the “Straw Hat Pirates.”
What makes the story interesting are the characters. Some of them possess supernatural powers. Others are merely humans who are said to represent real persons in real life. With a story so vast, you will come to know several different groups along the way.
From the moment it started, the author, Eiichiro Oda has been publishing a lot of comic books per year. It reached to a total of 320 million copies with 77 volumes, that is by the end of last year. You can just imagine how many people are really interested in it! The certificate was not only given to the author but to the editor-in-chief, Yoshihisha Heishi, as well.
It was said that Eiichiro Oda’s inspiration in making One Piece came from the animation Dragon Ball. He has started at a young age of 17 and has won several manga awards before he rose to fame. He is very dedicated to his work. It is even said he sleeps for quite a short amount of time.
