Art in Park Hotel Tokyo: The Perfect March Event for All Art Lovers!

  • There is a new art fair that is being held in Tokyo in March this year and will be held at Park Hotel Tokyo. While it is not the first hotel-based art fair in Japan, it isn’t a common occurrence which makes it even more of a worthwhile experience.

The first hotel-based art fair was Art@Agnes Art Fair in 2009 which was held at the Agnes Hotel and Apartments Tokyo. Since then, there haven’t been any hotel-based art fairs in Tokyo until Art in Park Hotel Tokyo this coming March.

    Art in Park Hotel Tokyo

Art in Park Hotel Tokyo is organized by ART OSAKA who have been responsible for organizing the largest contemporary art fair in Japan for many years – 13years to be exact. The art fair will only be held for two days from the 12th March to the 13th March 2016.

    Tickets and Galleries

The 1-day pass admission ticket is priced at 1,500 yen and can be purchased at the reception desk located on the 25th floor of the hotel. There will be 39 participating galleries which will be exhibited in the guest rooms on the 26th floor and 27th floor of Park Hotel Tokyo. The artworks will be focused on both past and future Japanese contemporary art.

Some of the highlights of the artworks are post-1945 contemporary art in Japan and artworks from mid-career artists who are very talented and shed light on the future of the Japanese art scene.

    Artist in Hotel Project

Park Hotel Tokyo is no stranger as a venue for artists to display their talents. Artists were invited to decorate the interior of the hotel rooms for the “Artist in Hotel” project. Besides that, Park Hotel Tokyo has also conducted a few exhibitions every year in the “ART Lounge” on the 25th floor.

If you love and value art, why not visit this exciting upcoming art fair? It is an excellent way to support underappreciated artists and there may be a piece of art that you feel a great connection with.
