Hatsune Miku and Sheena Ringo to Be Featured In an Orchestra Concert at NHK Hall!

  • Are you in the mood for some orchestra? Then the upcoming concert by N Symphony Orchestra may interest you. To commemorate its 90th anniversary, N Symphony Orchestra will be holding a special concert which is called N Symphony CLASSICS × POPS with SPECIAL ARTISTS.

    The Concert

For this concert, N Symphony Orchestra will be collaborating with artists of different styles and genres. The special artists that will be featured for this orchestra are Sheena Ringo and Hatsune Miku which may seem like untraditional choices for the orchestra concert. However, that is the point of this special concert. Crossover collaborations are not unusual in Japan. For instance, once upon a time, there was a zombie opera!

    Sheena Ringo

Sheena Ringo is an accomplished musician who has not only worked solo but founded a band called Tokyo Jihen which disbanded in 2012. She has a distinctive voice and has tried various music styles be it rock, enka, or jazz. Her single, Koko de Kiss Shite that was released in 1999, caused her to rise to fame when the single landed in the top 10 of the Oricon chart. Her talent leads to her being recognized and admired by some international artists as well, including Lenny Kravitz, MIKA, and Courtney Love.

    Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku is a character with a voice synthesizer which was initially created for Yamaha Vocaloid System. While she was at first a part of the otaku subculture, she has achieved mainstream and international success to the point of being featured on The Late Show with David Letterman. She has since been known as a pretty popular virtual idol and singer. She has also collaborated with other artists such as Namie Amuro.

If you are a fan of orchestral music, Sheena Ringo, or Hatsune Miku, this unique concert is perfect for you. Just be aware that since this is an orchestra concert, you have to remain silent in the hall. The concert will be held on the 22nd of March 2016 at NHK Hall.
