Dancing With the Stars Fans, Check Out This Star Powered Dance Show in Tokyo!

  • For those who are huge fans of the American reality dance show Dancing with the Stars, a live treat is in store for you! One of the most recognized principal dancers of the show, Cheryl Burke, is bringing her love of dance to us in Japan. Entitled Love on the Floor, the show uses the power of dance to take the audience through the stages of love: attraction, flirtation, lust, anger, jealousy, whimsy, glee, and bliss. The journey has one overall encompassing theme of love. The show is one of a kind and not only lets you see your favorite stars but it tells a story from the heart. Perfect for all the romantics out there!

    About the Show

    This labor of love (pun intended) from its creative director, Burke, has been an ongoing process which she is very excited to share on the Japanese stage. The show not only includes her star power, but also her friends from Dancing with the Stars. Dancing in the lead roles are Kristi Yamaguchi – gold medalist American figure skater; Charlie White and Meryl Davis – Olympic medalists for pairs ice dancing, along with Japanese figure skating star and Olympic medalist Daisuke Takahashi. Together, along with a strong supporting cast hand picked by Burke, they will take the audience on this journey of love through dance.

    The Cast

    Accordingly each of the stars will be dancing each stage of the journey. Per the website, Romance will be danced by Yamaguchi, Passion by Davis, Hurt by White and Power by Burke. Takahashi will be in the role of narrator and will also be performing dances in this role.

    Tickets and Details

    The performances will be in Shibuya’s Tokyu Theatre Orb and tickets will range from 9,000 yen to 15,000 yen. The performances will be scheduled from June 30th to July 9th, 2016.
