Check Out the Cast of the Fullmetal Alchemist Live Action Film!

  • Recently, Warner Brothers confirmed that there will be a live-action film based on the popular manga and anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist. It is said that the film will premiere in winter 2017. The shooting of the movie began in Italy this June (2016). Fumihiko Sori (曽利文彦) will be directing the film.

    Fullmetal Alchemist’s Plot

    The plot of Fullmetal Alchemist centers on a skilled alchemist named Edward Elric. He and his brother, Alphonse, attempt to revive their dead mother through the use of an illicit technique of human transmutation. This leads to the death of Alphonse and the loss of Edward’s two limbs. Using his brilliant alchemy skills, Edward manages to connect his brother’s soul to a suit of armor.

    The Live-Action Cast

    Here are some of the cast members for the upcoming live action film of Fullmetal Alchemist.

    In the live action film, the main protagonist, Edward Elric will be played by Ryosuke Yamada (山田涼介) who is well-known for being a member of the Japanese boy band, Hey! Say! JUMP.

    Winry Rockbell, Edward’s close childhood friend, will be played by actress and model, Tsubasa Honda (本田翼).

    The attractive Roy Mustang who is Edward Elric’s superior officer will be played by the equally handsome actor, Dean Fujioka (ディーン・フジオカ).

    The character Lust who has a sexy appearance and is able to extend her fingertips to cut through almost anything, will be played by Yasuko Matsuyuki (松雪泰子), an actress and singer.

    Gluttony, as his name suggests, is a character that always desires to eat, and his favorite thing to eat are girls. Gluttony will be played by Shinji Uchiyama (内山信二).

    Envy is a character who despises humans and has the ability to shape-shift. Envy will be played by Kanata Hongo (本郷奏多) who is known for starring in Nana 2 as Shin.

    Riza Hawkeye who is skilled in sharpshooting and firearms will be played by Misako Renbutsu (蓮佛美沙子).

    Are you excited about the upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist film? Appearance-wise, the actors who were cast seem to be a pretty good choice, so it is unlikely to disappoint fans!
