  • Häagen-Dazs Japan is going to open a limited summer cafe in Daikanyama, Tokyo. Häagen-Dazs SUMMER TERRACE is going to open from July 21st to August 19th within the cafe Sign daikanyama. Along with the opening of this limited season cafe, Häagen-Dazs will be selling 8 types of new sweets using their world famous ice cream.

    1. Hibiscus Granita (880 yen)

For those of you like me who have never heard of granitas before reading this article, apparently, they are a semi-frozen dessert that is made from water, sugar, and flavored syrups or sauces of various fruits. This dessert originated in Sicily, Italy and has now been transformed by Häagen-Dazs through combining it with their delicious ice cream. The Hibiscus Granita is a very summery dessert and features a scoop of vanilla ice cream, mangoes, and pineapple.

    2. Brown Sugar Soy Bean Paste Granita (880 yen)

The Brown Sugar Soy Bean Paste Granita is made in a traditional Japanese fashion by placing mochi and figs on top of brown sugar-flavored granita.

    3. Passion Fruit Granita (880 yen)

The Passion Fruit Granita is also a very summer-themed dessert that features a passion fruit and mint-flavored granita topped with macadamia nut ice cream and grapefruit. The ingredients come together to make a dessert that is perfect for blowing off the summer heat.

    4. Apple & Mango Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich (1,080 yen)

The croissants used in this menu are from the world famous boulangerie MAISON KAYSER. This rich collaboration between Häagen-Dazs and MAISON KAYSER is definitely worth tasting. Both the Apple & Mango Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich and the Mixed Berry Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich is limited to 50 plates a day so be sure to hurry to the cafe before they run out!

The Apple & Mango Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich features vanilla Häagen-Dazs ice cream, pieces of apples roasted in coconut oil, mango, and nuts.

    5. Mixed Berry Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich (1,080 yen)

The Mixed Berry Croissant Ice Cream Sandwich features chocolate brownie ice cream, various berries, and a chocolate brownie.

    6. Strawberry Shake (480 yen)

The following three shakes are all allowed to be taken out of the store, so if you don’t have time to sit down inside the cafe, you can grab a delicious shake to go. These shakes all use 1.5 cups of Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

The Strawberry Shake is made from mixing strawberry ice cream along with framboise topped with whipped cream.

    7. Banana Chocolate Shake (480 yen)

The Banana Chocolate Shake is made by mixing vanilla ice cream and bananas, mixed with a swirl of chocolate syrup and nuts.

    8. Cookie & Cream Shake (480 yen)

The Cookie & Cream Shake is made from cookies and cream ice cream topped with chocolate cookies.

The cafe is open from 11 am to 11 pm every day from July 21st to August 19th. If you are a big fan of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, I highly suggest visiting the SUMMER TERRACE to try out their limited edition menus!
