    History of the Hotel

Tokyo Station Hotel was opened just a year after the opening of Tokyo Station. At first, it only featured 56 rooms with a European-style atmosphere. It showcased magnificent works of art found in its facilities and architecture. It was clearly one of the most beautiful hotels of those times. However, the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 affected the hotel’s function. It became a home to many people affected by the disaster. At the end of the Second World War when resuming the hotel, it opened the first coffee bar in Japan. A grand renovation was made in 2006 which paved the way to the hotel’s grand re-opening on October 3, 2012.

    Cafe and Lounge

The hotel’s Lobby Lounge boasts a classic European feel where interior designs are elegant in nature such as having high ceilings. This is probably the best place to enjoy a wide selection of coffee and tea where you can also enjoy the fresh aroma of beans. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10:00 p.m (from 9 a.m. on weekends and national holidays). A confectionery brand called “Toraya (とらや)” also opened up a cafe in the hotel where you can enjoy artistic Japanese sweets such as wagashi. Besides dining in, you may instead opt to take out your order if you’re in a hurry. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9:00 p.m (to 8 p.m. on weekends and national holidays).

    The Rooms

There are about 150 rooms in the hotel which have been heavily decorated with classic European decor combined with comfort and good technology. This is to ensure an unforgettable stay whether the purpose is leisure or business related. Guests can choose from several varieties of rooms such as Classic Rooms, Palace Side Rooms, Dome Side Rooms, Maisonette, Royal Suite, Ambassador Suite, and Maisonette Suite.
