Enjoy Chocolate and Exercise at This Unique Event in Yokohama!

    One most popular way of maintaining a healthy lifestyle is by taking up a sport, and in which, many people choose running. You don’t need any special equipment, and you can do it almost anytime, anywhere.

    As good cardio provides quite a number of benefits, running has become the optimal choice of exercise, whether it be a simple jog or training for a marathon. It’s the same here in Japan, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re young or old.

    Even with a healthy lifestyle, we also need to balance it out with our cheat day! Did you know that there is an event coming up which mixes both exercise and sugary treats? Check out this running event that’ll surely satisfy your sweet tooth!

    The Chocorun


    The Chocorun is a running event that was first introduced in 2013. As the name of the event suggests, runners are able to eat yummy chocolate while enjoying taking part in a running event.

    At regular running events, you’d normally have water stations set up within the course. But for this event, there are chocolate stations instead! This is a unique concept, and the organizers claim this to be the only event of its kind in the world!

    Chocorun 2017 Yokohama

    The Chocorun holds the event in regions such as Miyagi (宮城), Osaka (大阪), Aichi (愛知) and in the past years and for 2017, the event will be taking place in the vicinity of Yokohama’s (横浜) popular Aka Renga Souko (赤レンガ倉庫), or the Red Brick Warehouse. Runners can expect to receive plenty of sweet treats offered at the event, such as the fluffy roll cake tower, and the kids as well will get to enjoy the Choco Kids Park.

    Aside from that, there’s also an area called the Gohobi A~n Choco Space, where handsome men and beautiful women will feed you chocolate, too! There are three courses participants can choose to run, and these include the 2km, 4km, and 10km courses. Don’t forget to invite your family and friends to cheer you on!

    Admission Prices

    The Chocorun 2017 will be held on February 25th, with different prices for each course.

    For junior high school students and below:
    The 2 kilometer run is 2,400 yen
    The 4 kilometer run is 3,200 yen
    The 10 kilometer run is 7,000 yen

    For high school students and above:
    The 2 kilometer run is 5,400 yen
    The 4 kilometer run is 6,000 yen
    The 10 kilometer run is 7,000 yen

    For those interested in joining this unique and sweet event, you still have until the 20th of February to enter. Why not enjoy some exercise and free chocolate in this unique event?
