  • LEGOLAND Japan, the most awaited attraction for children, is going to open this coming April 1, 2017 in Nagoya (名古屋). Its specially designed train has already started its service on the Nagoya Rinkai Rapid Transit’s Aonami Line (名古屋臨海高速鉄道あおなみ線) since March 27, 2017. The theme park is a place where you can find a full day of fun, especially for children aged 2 to 12 and their families. There are so many rides to enjoy as well as interactive and adventurous places to visit!

    About the Park

The plans for opening the park were started three years ago and was made possible through the cooperation of many people such as Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura (河村たかし), Nagoya City Council Chairman Kazuto Kato (加藤一登), Chubu District Transport Bureau, MLIT Director-General Akihisa Suzuki (鈴木昭久), and many more.

The park has over 40 rides, shows, and attractions. There are outdoor attractions for year-round enjoyment and seven different theme lands to explore. You can find around 17 million LEGO bricks and 10,000 LEGO models in the place. The departure of the LEGOLAND Train is expected to make many children happy. This is thanks to the cooperation of President Kondo (近藤) of the Aonami Line and the City of Nagoya.

    Exploring the Park

The seven theme lands are the following: Factory, Bricktopia, Adventure, Knight’s Kingdom, Pirate Shores, Miniland, and LEGO City.

The fun begins at Factory where you can see how LEGO bricks are produced and receive one as a souvenir for your visit to LEGOLAND.

Run your imagination at Bricktopia. You can build and race LEGO cars here, which is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Take a wonderful journey or adventure by visiting ancient temple ruins or diving in magical Submarine Adventure at the Adventure land.

Participate as a young knight or princess in the medieval atmosphere of Knight’s Kingdom.

Sail your galleon in shark-infested waters in Pirate Shores.

See ten locations of Japan at once in Miniland. Tokyo (東京), Osaka (大阪), Kyoto (京都), and Nagoya can also be seen made of bricks!

Better yet, learn to drive an electric car and earn an official LEGOLAND driver’s license at Driving School in LEGO City. Other than this, you can also fly a plane, steer a boat, or save a burning building. You can also enjoy 4D movies at the Palace Cinema with seats for more than 300 guests. Children can climb or roam around The Wharf while parents relax and watch them. If you get hungry, you can get a savory burger made with 100% ground beef at Brick House Burgers or have some smoothies or juice at Pit Stop Juice ‘N’ Drive.

There are so many activities you can try here! The tickets are now being sold online with free admission for kids up to two years of age. An annual pass is also available with certain terms and conditions.

Do look forward to the official opening of LEGOLAND Japan as so many surprises await you and your kids. It is a magical way to spend the day without getting bored. You can purchase advance tickets here. See you at the grand opening!
