Looking for things to do in Osaka this summer? How about seeing 2.5 million lilies simultaneously in bloom at Osaka Maishima Yurien Garden (大阪舞洲ゆり園)? This garden by the bay is definitely a must-visit place this summer season. Be captivated by the beauty of these flowers with the following activities available in the garden!
Enjoy these delicate beauties up close and personal. Although they may be irresistible, these lilies are for your eyes only; touching or picking them is not allowed. If you want to take home some of these lovely flowers, you can visit their shop as they sell different types of lily seedlings/flower pots.
The garden’s entrance fee is 1,200 yen for adults and 400 yen for children (4 years old to primary school children). Their discounted rate for students and seniors (65 years old and above) is 1,000 yen, while 600 yen for PWD (person with disability) adults and free for children.
Can’t get enough of the view? Admire the extensive garden landscape from up above through their helicopter rides. It may be a little expensive but the experience will definitely be worth it.

Want to add a little bit of adventure to your flower viewing experience? Take a hot air balloon ride and let the wind take you over the garden. Let the view of the colorful flowers below take your breath away as you sail above the area. Each ride takes approximately five minutes and can accommodate six to eight people.
To reserve or pay tickets, visit Maishima Yurien Garden’s Hot Air Balloon reception desk, they are open to visitors from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM only. The rate for adults is 2,000 yen and 1,500 yen for children. They do not accept advance reservations, so buy and use the ticket on the same day.
The flower viewing at Maishima Yurien Garden is only until July 5, 2017, so don’t miss the opportunity to experience this lovely seasonal panoramic view when visiting Osaka. Please take note that the schedule for both helicopter and hot air balloon rides may be shortened or cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
There are also other activities that you can enjoy around the area. You can shop for different kinds of handmade Japanese earthenware at the Maishima Pottery Shop, or experience pottery making in their pottery class. Outdoor activities for kids such as a sky trampoline and paddle boats are also available.
