The concept of dessert buffets is nothing new in Japan. The country has a highly competitive market of buffets. These eye-catching dessert buffets have been around for more than 30 years in well-established parlors and restaurants.
In 2016, The Westin Tokyo in Ebisu (恵比寿) started its Worldwide Chocolate Dessert Buffet which offered ultra-decadent all-you-can-eat desserts made from cacao. There was a rich selection of more than 20 kinds of sweets at a set price of 3,780 yen. This event was held at The Terrace, which is The Westin Tokyo’s open-kitchen restaurant located on the first floor offering a premium international buffet selection.
Aside from the dessert buffet, The Terrace also is known for its breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets. It boasts flexible menus from Austrian, to Italian, and to Singaporean dishes. The place has an airy atmosphere and is connected to a patio where guests can enjoy dining outdoors.
The breakfast buffet is served outside so guests can enjoy the sunshine, while lunch buffets are served with a great verdant view of the garden. The restaurant is huge and can accommodate large groups. It also has a private dining area for those who prefer to have a solemn dining experience. However, the place can only accommodate up to eight persons.
