Janice Wong graduated from Monash University in Australia with a degree in economics. Later on, she became more interested in food and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, a hospitality education institution.

During her culinary career, she won the title of Asia’s Best Pastry Chef by S. Pellegrino two years in a row.

In 2014, she also introduced her sweet concept named after herself which focuses on a multitude of colors, textures, and flavors for a dessert. Janice Wong’s Dessert Bar in Tokyo was opened on April 15, 2016. The place looks very elegant – it has a sleek and refined exterior and interior decorated with dim lights. Its atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable and gives you the chance to enjoy Janice Wong’s beautiful and artful dishes.

One of the bar’s popular desserts is the Cassis Plum. It has ten textures, including the crispiness of raspberry rice and refreshing notes from yuzu caviar and yuzu tapioca rubies, and is topped with soft yogurt foam. This delicate and refreshing dish costs 1,950 yen.
Another must-try dessert is the Chocolate H20, a signature frozen dark chocolate mousse. This is velvety smooth and has a lovely bitterness; it also has salted caramel running down the mousse’s ridges which provides its salty sweetness.
