    Japan has astounded the world by the skills and expertise it possesses in car (kuruma) building.
    Toyota, Honda, Nissan and the list is endless. Along with Germany and USA, Japan is a leader in manufacturing good quality cars for various price ranges and with various facilities.
    Here is a list of the world famous car and automobile brands which were born in the land of the rising sun and have gone out to create a name for themselves in terms of quality and excellence.

    1. Toyota

    Headquartered in Toyota city, Aichi, Toyota have started in 1933 and cars were sold under the name ‘Toyoda’. It uses the principles of “jidoka”, in which machines stop working automatically if any problem occurs. Pioneered the concept of just-in-time inventory, Kanban (system to control logistical chain), kaizen (improvement).     2. Honda

    The first Japanese brand to release a dedicated luxury car brand ‘Acura’, Honda is headquartered in Tokyo. The automobile company also manufactures motorbikes and power equipment.
    A transport museum titled ‘Honda Collection Hall’ has a collection of Honda consumer and racing oriented artifacts, located on grounds of twin ring Motegi race track.

    3. Subaru

    Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries. Known for its use of boxer engine layout, symmetrical all-wheel drive train layout and their offering of turbocharged versions of passenger cars like Impreza WRX and Legacy 2.5GT.
    At Subaru Visitor Center, Ota city, Gunma prefecture, visitors can tour the Gunma Yajima Plant. They are provided with a comprehensible explanation about Subaru’s brand philosophy, technologies and can see the brilliant automobile display.

    The automotive division of Mitsubishi heavy industries, Mitsubishi motors is headquartered in Minato, Tokyo.
    Mitsubishi has had a 30 year long association with actor Jackie Chan who has used their cars exclusively in most of his movies, now THAT was some trivia, wasn’t it!

    5. Suzuki

    Suzuki motor corporation specialises in manufacturing 4 wheelers, all terrain vehicles and other automobiles.
    Suzuki plaza in its home city of Hamamatsu, contains motorcycles, outboard motors, fuel cell cars, mini-car and ATVs all available for display, charting the history of this iconic company.

    6. Nissan

    Since 1999, Nissan has been a part of Renault-Nissan alliance, and sells its cars under Nissan, Datsun and NISMO brands. It is the leading Japanese brand in China, Russia and Mexico.
    Nissan has a huge collection of historic cars stored in Zama factory. Around 300 cars from Datsun, Prince, Infiniti; show car concepts, production cars, race/rally machines and a lot more.
