Check Out This Exciting Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition in Osaka This November!

  • Osaka is a fun city in the Kansai region that is very famous for its delicious street food, highly energetic comedians, and friendly locals. It is also home to the gorgeous Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan. There always seems to be something happening in this city that locals and visitors can enjoy! This November 2017, there will be a special exhibition to celebrate the manga and anime series, and soon-to-be live-action movie, Fullmetal Alchemist. Fans of this great show can’t miss this event, which will also be held in Tokyo.

    Fullmetal Alchemist

    Fullmetal Alchemist was originally a manga series that was published in SQUARE ENIX’s monthly magazine before it was rewritten as a manga comic book series. It was adapted into an anime and broadcasted in 2003, and the later the sequel, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, was broadcasted in 2009. This anime series, which tells the story of two brothers who are looking for a special stone to restore their bodies that they lost through dangerous alchemy experiments, was very successful and remains to be one of the most well-known and most loved anime series of all time.

    A live-action movie is also currently in production and is due to be released on 1st December 2017. It will star Ryosuke Yamada, Dean Fujioka, and Tsubasa Honda.

    The Exhibition

    The Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition involves original manuscripts of the manga series and materials that are used during the animation process. You can also buy original goods that you won’t be able to find anywhere else at the event! This would surely be a great opportunity for true fans to find out more about the creative process of the production of this hit anime series, as well as get their hands on limited edition merchandise.

    You can enter the exhibition from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day and the last admission is at 4:30 PM. The exhibition is in Tokyo from 16th September to 29th October 2017 and is in Osaka from 3rd to 30th November 2017.


    You can buy tickets in advance if you are in Japan at a discount, or you can buy them on the day.

    If you buy tickets in advance:

    • Adults and university students – 1,300 yen
    • High school and junior high school students – 1,000 yen
    • Elementary school students – 800 yen
    • Under 3 years old – free (must be accompanied by a guardian 16 years old or above)

    If you buy tickets on the day:

    • Adults and university students – 1,500 yen
    • High school and junior high school students – 1,500 yen
    • Elementary school students – 1,000 yen
    • Under 3 years old – free (must be accompanied by a guardian 16 years old or above)

    Tickets are an extra 600 yen if you would like to include an audio guide. Advance tickets can be bought at convenience stores in Japan such as FamilyMart and 7-Eleven.

    The exhibition in Osaka is taking place at the ATC Hall, which can be accessed from Nakafuto Station or Trade Center-mae Station. If you’re a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, check out their exciting exhibition before it ends and get some limited edition merchandise while you are at it!
