The shop’s name “Coisof” comes from the fact that it is a combination of the Japanese words “love” and “richness.” It is related to soft romantic love which is evident in the shop’s soft-serve ice cream! The shop is fairly new, having opened in August 2017. It is located along the side street of Takeshita in Harajuku.

The ice cream they serve is popular for its colorful toppings (oiri) that make everything bubbly. An “oiri” is a traditional soft candy ball that originated from Kagawa Prefecture. It has a very cute and lovely appearance which makes it a great topping for ice cream! It also tastes fluffy and sweet.

The original colors of oiri are red and white. Nowadays, they can be seen in a multitude of colors (pink, yellow, green and purple). As of 2017, Coisof’s soft-serve ice cream comes in two flavors, namely black sesame and white sesame. You can also order a mixture of both if you like! They look ‘instalicious’, and that’s why many people come to this shop to take loads of brilliant pictures!

The shop is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, so there are plenty of opportunities to check it out!
